i once read a poem, which greatly shocked me. let me share it with you: “chimneys have grown into forests; armored concrete blocks our view; there is no longer green within sight. where is the clear sky? where is the blue sea? where is the fresh air?”
i remember, when i was a child, there was a yard behind my house. i used to sit with my grandma under a big tree. in the tree, birds were chirping and dancing happily and freely. with grandma’s soft cradlesongs and birds’ singing, i would quickly fall into a sleep of sweet dreams. at that time the sky was so blue and clear. at night, twinkling stars dotted the sky. the verdant leaves and their fragrance impressed me so much that i still have a clear picture of them in my mind even today.
but now i can hardly hear a bird sing, the fragrance can only be found in the depths of my memory, and stars have hidden themselves behind gray buildings and even the sky is gray. i dont know when things began to change. but what i do know is that pollution and waste disposal have presented serious challenges to our society. environmental pollution is just like pandoras bo, and we are the victims.
we must do something to change this terrible condition. hosting the beijing olympics gives us a great opportunity to show the world it can be done. “green olympics”, one of the three basic themes of beijing olympic games, is our promise to the world that we will work towards cleaning up our environment.
therefore every one of us should take some practical actions. you might say, “but i am just an ordinary citizen. what can i do? i have no responsibility.” but in my opinion, we can start with small things like our daily routine, such as not to litter, avoid using disposable food containers, cups and chopsticks, save every drop of water and so on. we must always remember that it is necessary for everyone to participate in order to save our planet.

Good morning! Today, the title of my speech is Improving Beijings environment for the Olympics. Have you ever seen animals cry? Do you know what makes them cry? Many of us are smart enough to know how terrible it is to have a world without animals and plants. But some people still persist in making the same errors and harming the environment.
Whats worse is that people are eating wild animals. Those people dont know, and more importantly, they dont want to know. This kind of behavior has caused some specific problems. For example, medical experts have suggested that eating wild animals helped spread the terrible disease SARS. Now, our world is no longer clean and beautiful. Why? Because air, water, and noise pollution has become more and more serious. Noise pollution makes us talk more loudly and become angry more easily. Water pollution makes our rivers and lakes very dirty. Air pollution is the most serious kind of pollution. Both air pollution and water pollution are not only dangerous to our health, but also dangerous to animals and plants. Were destroying our only world. A large number of trees have been cut down, so a lot of lands have been turned into deserts. Pollution can be seen everywhere! Unquestionably it is essential that we clean up our environment. Sadly, weve not always appreciated the importance of protecting the environment. On the streets, you can see cars producing smog. It is no longer a dream.
In the year 2010, the hour hand of the world will focus BJ. The Olympic holy fire will be lighted on this splendid ground.We are looking forward to that day.
In the year 2010, the old BJ will stand in the east of the world, in a complete new look. The three topic of the Olympic Games -----"Green Olympic", "Cultural Olympic", and "Technical Olympic", will be fully and excellently shown to the world. We are putting the plan into practice.
In the year 2004, there will be lots of tall buildings in the fast-developed Pinggu district. The protection of the environment will be completely improved. The village will be rich and the scenery will be more and more beautiful. intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the 2014 olympics?
it is known to all that the beijing municipal government has already set the theme for the future games: new beijing, great olympics. for me, the 2014 olympics will be a great green olympics illuminated with two more special colors, yellow and red.
first, yellow is a meaningful color. the yellow river is chinas mother river and the descendants of the yellow emperor. this color has a special origin and great significance for the chinese people. beijing is the capital of new china and previously the capital for nine dynasties in chinese history. so, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2014 games.
secondly, the 2014 olympics will be a red pageant.red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. we adore red. on big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. it is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of beijing . beijing , together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization. should the 2014 olympics be held in beijing, the whole city will be a sea of red : the red torch,red flags, red flowers, and the radiant faces of millions of joyful people.

lets start with the very simple question： do you know the tree coverage rate of beijing？ well， the recent numerical value is 49.9%。 it sounds much， but is there simply one tree that was planted by you？ if there is， lets say youre really great。 but if not believe me you are not alone cuz its rather difficult for us students to get involved in such activities。 well， i think now we all realize that all that weve done for the green is just about claiming or declaring， painting or advertising。 however what im fully convinced is that someday ten years ago you must have stepped onto the grassland in the early spring and im sure that some of you （especially girls） must have unwittingly picked up dandelions by the roadside and gently blew their parachute like seeds into the fragrant breeze。 by the time our lives can be counted by decades， what have we done for our mother nature？
before you get lost in speculation， please follow me and try considering some other questions： put up your hands if you have watched the olympic games？ （of course you have or else you wouldnt be sitting here） nonetheless how many of you had the experience of sitting in front of the television waiting for the games of the unable people？ i think now we can draw the conclusion that we concern the olympic games mostly for entertainment。

Good morning ,today i′m very happy to be here to share with you some of my thoughts on the topic of the green olympics
It′s said that the green olympics are a dream that can′t come true at the circumstance around us . no .i believe the circumstance can be created by ourselves dream of the green olympics will do come true by our efforts . the green olympics are not a dream any more .
Everyone has a lot of nice dreams.。it is a common wish that we can live in comforting environment . for the chinese, september 23,1993 is a regretful and unforgettable day . it was because of environmental problems that beijing failed to sponsor the olympic games of 2014,which is a big regret for every chinese successfully bid for the qualification for the 2014 olympics after we solve the problem of environment can we sponsor the olympics ? first of all ,we should do from trifles to create a beautiful environment so that we can truly carry out the green olympics.
Water is the source of life; electricity is the necessity of our living lawn can cheer up our heart and soul y animal is a creature in the nature . are you sure that you save a drip of water in your daily life ? it is reported that the water resource per capita in beijing is less than 300 cube meters, representing one eighth of the per capita level of china and one thirtieth of the world per capita level. even worse, the underground water in some regions is absolutely undrinkable. water pollution and water shortage have hindered beijings development seriously. the saying of "dont make the last drop water be humans own tear" is by no means a deliberately exaggeration so as to create a sensation. if i was an environment protection worker, i would enact the law of environment protect strictly and check the pollution with all my perseverance. if i was a sewage treatment engineer, i would develop the most advanced sewage treatment equipment in the world that can be used to filter all the sewage into clean water. a pot of water can be used three or four times in my family . first , i use the fresh water to wash rice and then use it to wash my face ′s reported that it is a good way to beautify my face . at last ,i use this water which is a kind of good fertilization to irrigate flowers a student in dianye middle school,we not only protect the water but also research the vegetation around us. last summer holiday, with the teachershelp,we had a survey about the vegetation in shidu found fifty-eight species of plants were near extinction. its a so large number! we reported it to the government and gave them three kinds of reasonable advices at once. are you sure that you turn off the light when it is unnecessary whether you are at school 、 at factory or at home ? when you want to spit in public places , do you think of the sars in 2014 ? when you walk in the park and see the colorful flowers , do you pick them off and arrogate to yourself ? when you walk through the school porch , do you draw everywhere ? when you walk into restaurants and see all kinds of creatures become so-called delicious dishes of human beings, does the dreadful scene make your heart and soul tremble? after all, they are all the living things just like our human beings! the comfortable environment around us needs to be created by every one of us!
My friends , join us! devote yourself to the protection of our environment . try to make our sky bluer, our ground greener and our water cleaner. the 2014 green olympic will become reality. im sure we chinese will be proud of it ! in addition, this is the responsibility of every chinese k you ！

The Chinese Government and people are doing our the utmost/best to prepare for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, and shooting at the pageant with advocating Olympic ideal, sparkpluging world peace and enhancing the relationships among the world. Olympic spirit are gonna spread again in orient cultural ancient China.
The government and people of China have always admired the purposes and principles of the Olympic spirit and supported the efforts made by the Olympics in promoting world peace. The Chinese government and people are doing our utmost in preparation for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. It is our hope to make it a grand gathering that will carry forward the Olympic spirit, promote world peace and enhance the friendship among people of the world, so that the Olympic spirit will flourish once again, this time in China, an oriental country with an ancient civilization.
