Happiness is dependent upon work. Sometimes we complain that we have too much work, but we fail to realize that it’s our work that keep us moving on and helps us to become a better man. Last summer I visited my friends in a small village. It was obvious that working has become an indispensable part of their daily lives. They all went to the field to plant the crops. The sun was shinning above them and they looked quite happiness about their work. On their face there were such smiles as I had never seen before.
Work provide us with happiness. Work is more than a necessity for human beings. If we have no work to do, we will waste our precious time. That’s pity. We will lose everything in the end. Work helps us to realize the importance of life, then we will appreciate it more. Everybody who live in this society could not live without working. If we spend every day idly, we will find life is boring.

Happiness is the most precious thing in the world, which can be obtained in different ways.
From my point of view, being in a good mood anytime and anywhere is the first thing for those who want to be happy. There is an old saying going like this, "happy is he who is content." I cant agree with it any more. I still remember a story my mother told me when I was a child. A millionaire tried every means to seek after pleasure but to feel unhappy. Its not unique, but has its counterpart that poor men to whose name not having a thing always feel happy. Why are they so different? The answer is that the rich is being thinking how he can gain more while the poor is satisfied with what he owns at hand-health, freedom, love and so on.
Furthermore, love makes great difference to happiness. If you have love in your heart, you will have happiness in your life. Love consists of two parts, one is to love others, and the other is to be loved by others. Lei Feng set a good example for all of us. He served the people wholeheartedly until the last minute of his life. He regarded serving the people as the happiest thing. There are numbers of similar inspirational stories to be found. In addition, being loved by others can also lead you to happiness. Courage from your parents when frustrated, care from your lover when ill, help from your friends when in trouble… all of these will make you the happiest person in the world.
The last but not least is to act happily. Putting on a happy face and thinking interesting things are helpful to trigger happy feelings.
Wile happiness is precious, it is easy to get.
Someone asks me what on earth happiness means? I cant give you the exact definition of it, but Im sure if you love and help others, youll get it..
Ill never forget an old lady. She lives in a small house alone. Its said that her husband and her son died in a traffic accident. How bitter her life is!But the old lady often helps others with a smile. Whenever it snows, she is always the first to clean the paths. She looks after several children living nearby. I am one of them. I often remember the stories she told us and her kind smile. Perhaps she is unlucky, but I think she is a happy person. Her life is full of laughter and love.
But Im sad to see some people getting their happiness in bad ways. They speak loudly in cinemas and meeting rooms; they destroy trees to enjoy themselves and they laugh at others shortcomings. Perhaps they feel happy at that time, but they will never get true happiness because they have lost their personality.
Now I know what happiness is. It means kindness, love and unselfishness. Above all, only bringing happiness to others can make you yourself get it.

what is happiness? different people have different ideas. some people are rich; they think they are happy. other people have many friends, so they feel happy. still others are happy because their lives are meaningful.
happiness attracts everyone. for children, happiness often suggests eating something good or playing with toys. for a stamp collector, stamps bring more delight than meals. and for a scientist, a discovery or an invention rather than anything else gives him greatest satisfaction.
there was once a beggar who was always happy. the king saw him and wondered why he was so happy because he was so poor. however, the king could have whatever he wanted; yet he himself was not happy at all. thus we can see one’s happiness doesn’t depend on whether he is rich or poor. happiness is a state of mind. as long as one thinks he’s content and satisfied, he is happy.
as everything exist only because its opposite, happiness exists only when pain exists. just as a person who does not know failure never knows success, a person, who has not experienced suffering or sadness never knows what happiness means.
happiness always promises a hope by which people go on living. when they come to the point of losing hope because they have suffered a great deal, it is often the time when happiness comes that will give them the courage and desire to live.
cheer up and be happy. happiness is not far from you. it’s just around you. try to grasp it and enjoy it.
Happiness means different things to different people. For example, some people believe that if they have lots of money, they will be happy. They believe that if they are wealthy, they will be able to do anything they want, which means happiness. On the other hand, some people believe that holding a high position in the government is happiness. In this way, you have not onlymoney, but also many other things which cant be bought by money.
However, other people believe that having lots of money is not happiness nor is holding a high position in the government. These people value their beliefs, or their intelligence, or their health. They think these can make them happy.
For me, happiness is closely tied to my studies, my work and my family. When I made great progress in my studies, when I made contributions to the society through my work, when all the members in my family live in harmony, sharing good and sad times, I was happy. Although the definition of happiness depends on each individual my "wealth" of happiness is in my studies, my work, and my family.

Can money buy happiness?
Different people have different opinions. Some think yes, while others hold the opposite.
It is true that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants, and live a life of comfort and security. However, it is equally true that lack of money causes great distress. It is a common view that "money is the root of all evil." The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal. In
some places there is nothing that cannot be bought with money, resulting in corrupt societies where everybody is miserable. So, money does not
necessarily mean happiness. It all depends on how it is used. If we make honest and sensible use of money, it can be a
stepping-stone to happiness l Although money cannot buy happiness, it can make
happiness possible if it is employed sensibly.

What is happiness?
I believe that most of us had been “questioned” by our parents or relatives basically about “how much do you earn a month” or “have you gotten promoted”. But few of them care about that if we are living a happy life.
Concerning such phenomenon, a question comes to my mind: what is happiness?
As American president Franklin Roosevelt said,“ People are happy only because they think they are.”
Different kinds of people enjoy different kinds of happiness. To the chairman, nation’s harmony and prosperity is happiness. To retailers, selling more goods and having more customers is happiness. To the police, getting guilt punished and society’s stability is happiness. To beggars, away from starvation is happiness.
We will feel happy when we receive greetings and wishes. A few words like “Happy new year!” or “Merry Christmas” could be pretty delightful. But not all greetings and wishes lead to happiness. For instance, once I received a message from my girlfriend on November 11th. The message said “Happy bachelors day!”
Actually, no one can be happy forever.
We all confront difficulties and failures and experience reversein our daily lives, that is inevitable . We may be upset when we lose a game. We may feel tough when we suffer from diseases.
But it doesn’t matter because happiness is much more beautiful in comparison with these tragedies. As George Bernard Shaw, a famous British dramatist said , “l(fā)ifetime of happiness? no man alive could bear it, it would be hell on Earth .” We live a hard time so that we value the happy moments. If there is no sadness, then how could we be able to measure happiness?
People never give up the pursuit of happiness. They work hard in order to own a cosy life. They take morning exercises in order to keep healthy. They go on a trip in order to release the tension of emotion…
However, the whole world’s happiness is much more essential than the one’s.
It’s everyone’s duty to make the world full of love.
Actually, we are making move. I can see that more and more people start paying attention to the poor. A lot of Hope Projects emerged as well as charity organizations.
I have a dream that one day when an old man falls down in the middle of the street, passers-by will give a hand instead of walking away.
I believe that one day happiness will exist in every corner of the world.
It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. Gamblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money, which often succeed. So it is with happiness. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous. For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common.
The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work sseems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly.
It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen--a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.
good morning everyone:
as we all know, happiness is something that every person is chasing. i always try my best to find out what is the true meaning of happiness. and i think i got it last week.
it was an ordinary saturday morning. i felt a little tired because of the preparation for the mid-term exams. it was not long before my mother came in with a large bunch of white roses picked from the seller’s gardon. during the next few minutes, we were both busy putting them into a big cley case. looking at the flowers, i found the dark sitting room became bright, so did my mood, just like a person gets some fresh air when he feels dizzy. all the feeling of boredom flew away.
then i remember a poem named “l(fā)ife could be worse”, which said:” for the weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means i have been capable of working hard. for my alarm that goes of in the early hours, because it means i am alive. and finally, for too much e-mail, because it means i have friends who are thinking of me. “i learnt that happiness is not the diamond in a necklace, nor a dream far away, it’s just your attitude towards life.
if you realize it, a simple cup of cola with ice can bring you a cool summer, for happiness is so ordinary that it’s right in the palm of your hand.
thank you!
Hello everybody, today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of happiness. What is happinessIt is what everyone is longing for. Sometimes happiness would be rather simple. Winning a game is happiness; getting a high grade in the exam is happiness; even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also happiness.
However, as far as a person’s whole life is concerned, happiness becomes very complicated(復雜的). Is fortune(財富) successIs fame(名譽) happinessIs high social status happinessNo, I don’t think so. Happiness in my mind is the attitude(態(tài)度) towards things. Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who have much money, but the fact is they are not happy. My dictionary defines happy as "lucky" or "fortunate", but I think a better definition of happiness is "the capacity for enjoyment(享受的能力)". The more we can enjoy what we have, the happier we are. It's easy to overlook(忽視) the pleasure we get from loving and being loved, the company of friends, the freedom to live where we please, even good health.
You never know where happiness will turn up(露面) next. When I asked friends what makes them happy, some mentioned seemingly insignificant(微不足道) moments. "I hate shopping," one friend said. "But there's this clerk (職員)who always chats and really cheers me up(給我歡呼聲). "
Another friend loves the telephone. "Every time it rings, I know someone is thinking about me. "
We all experience moments like these. Too few of (太多的)us register(記錄) them as happiness.
While happiness may be more complex(復雜的) for us, the solution is the same as ever(但是獲得幸福的途徑永遠是一樣的.) Happiness isn't about what happens to us; it's about how we perceive(感知) what happens to us. It's the knack(訣竅) of finding a positive for every negative, and viewing a set-back(挫折) as a challenge. It's not wishing for what we don't have, but enjoying what we do possess(擁有).
So I think happiness is everywhere . ok, this is my understanding about
happiness, and what’s your definition of happinessAt last, Wish you all happy!
