　　Yet Waizers argument，however deficient，does point to one of the most serious weak- nesses of capitalism-namely，that it brings to predominant positions in a society people who，no matter how legitimately they have earned their material rewards，often lack those other qualities that evoke affection or admiration.

　　難句類型：復(fù)雜修飾、插入語、倒裝

　　解釋：第一個插入語however deficient 中的however在此不是轉(zhuǎn)折連詞，而是副詞，等于no matter how，但是因為后面出現(xiàn)了no matter how，而作者又追求語言表述的多樣性，所以作者在此使用了however deficient這樣較為少見的的語言。

　　盡管本句的插入語較多，第二個插入語很長，但是本句的真正難點在倒裝上。破折號后面的部分是主句賓語的同位語從句，此從句中固定搭配bring A to B被倒裝成了bring to BA。如果把這句話恢復(fù)成正常語序，則是it brings people who, no matter how legitimately they have earned their materiall rewards, often lask those other qualities that evoke affection or admiration to predominant positions in a society。很明顯，這樣的語序會顯得頭重腳輕。
